Pulsano in the province of Taranto: the Archaeological Museum in the Convent of the Reformed Fathers, the historic centre and the splendid beaches of Marina di Pulsano.
History
Pulsano stands a short distance from the sea, in the hinterland of the Ionian coast south of Taranto. The town keeps a compact historic centre and has in its shoreline — Marina di Pulsano — one of the province's most visited and best-loved stretches of coast.
What to see
The MAP — Pulsano Archaeological Museum. Opened in 2019 in the rooms of the fine Convent of the Reformed Fathers, it gathers the many finds unearthed in the municipal territory, restoring the ancient history of this area of the Ionian coast.
The historic centre. The old core preserves the castle and the historic churches, with the quiet atmosphere of the Ionian hinterland's villages.
The sea. The real tourist draw is Marina di Pulsano: a succession of coves, sandy beaches and rocky stretches with particularly limpid waters, served by numerous equipped lidos. It is one of the seaside spots most favoured by Tarantines and tourists alike.
